About

SBCAN supports community-led climate action across the Scottish Borders Region.

In the Scottish Borders, we feel that the topics of energy, food+farming, young people, active travel and health are areas of particular relevance to communities in our region and thus, these five themes form the focus of our work at present.

Our goal is to help contribute to the creation of a Scottish Borders in which everyone takes everyday positive actions to tackle climate change.

Areas We Serve

The largest town in our district is Hawick (13,500). There are seven towns with a population of over 3000 people and 20 towns with between 500 and 3000 inhabitants. The remaining 30% of the Borders population live in settlements of less than 500 people.
